‘G’ Force
How many of you have that certain friend who seems to be able to talk you into almost anything? I call mine ~ 'G' Force.
About ten years ago 'G' asked me if I wanted to participate in a 5k race with her and I said yes. Then I went home to ask my husband how long a 5k was because ~ I had no idea it was 3.1 miles. That was the first of many 5k's 'G' talked me into. The Jolly Roger 5k was on Marco Island an early riser. So, with the promise of a home cooked breakfast at her mom's afterwards, 'G' and I were up and on our way to Marco Island at 4:00 a.m. It was worth waking up early because her mom had a table set for royalty and she served us a 4-course delicious breakfast.
As time went by, I was on to the 'G' Force methodology, so she had to mix things up a bit. This time 'G' asked me if I would be interested in doing a mud obstacle course if she were to sign up. Yeah, I guess so ~ I should have known better. 'G' said great, I'm already signed up and I'll forward you the link ~ Gotcha!
Once again, I think I have the methodology figured out ~ not really. We are participating in a 5k and 'G' tells me her daughter is going to do the Gasparillia Half Marathon, am I interested. Maybe that was all I said, not wanting to commit right away. As we finished the race, I asked her daughter if she was really thinking about doing a half marathon. Her answer floored me, she said... 'Mom said you and my brother were going to do it and asked me if I wanted to join ya'all' - LOL! 'G' Force is now getting her family involved in the methodology ~ it worked we all, including 'G' participated in the Gasparilla Half Marathon and had a blast!
Just when I think there is no one else she can use, nothing else she can say, to talk me into something she knits ~ that's right knits. Knits these adorable turkey headbands for the annual turkey trot. No longer does she need to ask if I would like to participate, now she asks... 'Do you want to keep your headband?'
